In July 2016, he played in the Fatal 4-way match where he first defeated Cesaro, Rusev, and Kevin Owens. Well, he also played against Roman Reigns and defeated him.

Afterward, he returned in the ring in a six-man tag team match with Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho and played the match against his rival team including, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and Triple H on the episode of April 3, 2017.

Furthermore, in the episode of January 28, 2018, Balor ranked second after being eliminated by John Cena in his first 2018 Royal Rumble Match.

In 2019's Fatal-4 Way, Balor won the match against Drew McIntyre, John Cena, and Baron Corbin after pinning John Cena.

The Irish wrestler made his debut on Smackdown Live defeating Ali in the match.
