John is engaged to his longtime girlfriend Heather Taras. John proposed Heather on the set of Shark Tank on September 22, 2016. Though the couple has not disclosed their relationship beginning details.
As reported, the millionaire businessman popped up the question with a 9.5-carat emerald-cut diamond ring.
Regarding his proposal, John told US Weekly:
I was a little nervous. I had to create a speech. I knew a lot of people were looking at me. You know, you never know how someone is going to react, of course. She could always say no, and that’s the first time that I’ve been on the carpet pitching somebody! So, a little nerve-racking, of course.

I’m so grateful that I went and got this thing looked into. I know there are a lot of debates about if executive physicals are worth it or not, but in my case it was worth more than gold-or anything else-because it saved me from a lot of potential problems down the road.
