Wisconsin Man Arrested for Throwing Eight Puppies Away in Garbage Bag

A Wisconsin man, namely Robert Wild, 56, was arrested for throwing eight puppies away in a garbage bag.

The Marshfield Police Department took to Facebook and shared that the department took him into custody after the newborn pups were found in a trashcan on February 28.

The department wrote in a lengthy statement, 

On 2/28/19 at 3:15 pm, Marshfield Police were dispatched to complaint of the sound of kittens coming from a garbage can in the 800 blk of E 4th St. Upon arrival, it was learned that the sound was coming from 8 newborn puppies which had been discarded in a garbage bag and trash can at 813 E 4th St. The bag was removed and the puppies were transported to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter. Contact was made at the residence and a 56 yr old Marshfield male was arrested and transported to the police department after admitting to discarding the puppies. Misdemeanor charges were requested through the Wood County DA’s office on Robert M. Wild for mistreatment of animals and abandonment of animals. The puppies are doing well and may be up for adoption in the coming months

As per the report, authorities received a call and were informed that "the sound of kittens coming from a garbage can."

Investigators discovered "the sound was coming from 8 newborn puppies which had been discarded in a garbage bag and trash can," after arriving at the scene. The puppies were rescued.

All eight little dogs were transported to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter. Robert admitted to "discarding the puppies," police said.

The puppies  "are safe and in foster care." However, they will reportedly only be up for adoption after they "grow up big and strong first."

The Police department has requested the Wood County District Attorney's Office to charge Robert with "misdemeanor charges for the mistreatment and abandonment of animals."
