Will Smith and Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istrefi are set to perform the official 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia song, multiple sources have confirmed.
As per the report, the track is being produced by Diplo.
The Vibe and Colombian radio station W Radio were first to report this news on Monday, May 21 and with sources close to the project, the news was confirmed by Billboard.
We know there are multiple songs associated with the World Cup, but of course, the official anthem should be the most high-profile. It is performed at the finale of the World Cup as 2 billion people will be watching it.
Past anthems include Ricky Martin’s The Cup of Life and Shakira’s Waka Waka.
According to an interview with Nicky Jam's manager Juan Diego Medina, Jam and Smith were in Budapest, where they gave the final touches to the song, that is will be released on Friday, May 25.
Prior to that Vibe had already reported that the reggaeton producer DJ Nelson told them that Smith and Jam were working on the song. The magazine also reported that Istrefi would be featuring in the song.
Before the World Cup song's news broke out, the duo was already talking about each other on social media.
