A man whose spouse disappeared while they were on a honeymoon is facing a jail sentence in the wake of conceding in Florida to a government for the federal involuntary manslaughter charge.
A condemning hearing is booked Tuesday in Miami government court for 41-year-old Lewis Bennett. The request understanding tops his potential jail sentence at 8 years.
Isabella Hellman disappeared as the couple cruised off the Bahamas in May 2017.
Bennett said he left Hellman on deck when he went to sleep. He said he woke up when the art hit something, and by that time Hellmann was gone.
The FBI says the sailboat's openings were opened and the structure harmed from within.
The couple has a girl, who turned 3 in July. She's being brought by his parents in Scotland. Further, investigation on the disappearance of the lady is yet to proceed and the details are said to reveal soon.
