Wendy Williams is set to return to The Wendy William Show's signature purple chair on Monday, March 19, after a three-week hiatus.
On Tuesday, March 6, the show host shared a tweet about her return on Tuesday, thanking Jerry O’Connell, who will appear on the show as her first-ever guest host next week.

In a statement to US Weekly, the 53-year-old reality star said,
Jerry has been such a good friend to me and to the show. We’re happy to welcome him as a guest host while I’m out getting much needed rest.
The 44-year-old Sliders actor can’t wait to get to work. Via the statement, Jerry said,
I’m excited to help out and fill in. We all know nobody can fill the purple chair like Wendy, but I am honored to sit with her co-hosts and to bring the many fans all the Hot Topics they love. Like Wendy tells us, ‘I am am going to Say It Like I Mean It.’
As previously reported on February 21, Wendy revealed that she is taking time off to discuss her issues with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease which is an autoimmune disorder.
After detailing her symptoms including difficulty sleeping and irritability, she told views at the time,
My doctor has prescribed — are you ready? — three weeks of vacation,
Wendy has been hosting the Fox program since 2008 and she had never missed a day of work until she received strict orders from her physician.
In February, a representative for the show told media,
Her health and well-being must be put before all else. The show will be in repeats during this unplanned hiatus.
