First lady Michelle Obama was surprisingly joined by Missy Elliott for an eventful carpool karaoke on 'The Late Late Show with James Corden.'

James Corden's White House tour took an unthinkable turn when First Lady Michelle Obama, who teased her appearance on her new Snapchat account last month, joined him for a drive around the grounds singing Stevie Wonder and Beyonce. Surprise guest Missy Elliott dropped in to sing "This Is For My Girls."

The first lady and Corden also moved their body along to Beyonce's "Single Ladies," and sang "This Is For My Girls" – the song inspired by the 'Let Girls Learn' initiative and the 62 million girls around the world who have no access to education.

But undoubtedly, the most remarkable moment of the night was when Missy Elliott herself dropped by to sing along to "This Is for My Girls" with Obama and Corden.

In the clip, the 52-year-old says "I rarely get to listen to music in the car. I've been in a car – maybe it was months ago – with my daughter, learning to drive. That was the only time in seven and a half years that I've been in the passenger's seat listening to music, rocking out like this."

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights on CBS.
