Two people were killed and a man and woman were injured after a gunman opened fire on motorists, leading to a fatal car accident.
The shooter was arrested on Wednesday, March 27, after an attack that police described as a "random, senseless act."
According to Seattle Police Deputy Chief Marc Garth Green, a resident in the Lake City neighborhood walked outside with a handgun at approx. 4:05 p.m. PT and started shooting after approaching a woman who was driving.
She was shot and critically injured as the suspect was trying to carjack the vehicle. The gunman then walked into the street and started firing at a Metro bus.
Despite being shot by the gunfire, the bus driver was able to turn his Michael around and get away.
The suspect, who has not been identified, then carjacked a red Prius, in which he shot and killed a 50-year-old driver.
Officers tried to talk to the gunman after arriving at the scene he reportedly closed the car door and took off in the Prius. Officers then chased him.
The gunman collided with another car during the chase and killed the other driver, a 70-year-old man. He was then arrested and then taken to Harborview Medical Center with some injuries.
