Victor Ortiz, the professional boxer who competed on season 16 of Dancing With the Stars with Lindsay Arnold in 2013, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman in March.

The Oxnard Police Department in California confirmed in a press release that the sportsman was taken into the custody on Tuesday, September 25. His bail was set at $100,000.

The department also confirmed that its Family Protection Unit started investigating Victor in March after the victim reported of being sexually assaulted by the boxing star at a home in the area.

The investigation was continued until the authorities issued an arrest warrant for Victor.

The reality star, 31, surrendered himself at the Ventura County Sheriff Department’s East Valley Station at approx. 3 p.m.; he has been charged with three felonies: forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and forcible digital penetration.

The athlete’s arrest comes five days before he was to fight John Molina Jr. in a nationwide television event.

So, will the match will be scheduled? Well, it's still unknown.

This is not the first time Victor has a run-in with the law. Back in July 2015, the fighter was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after an altercation at a Kenny Chesney concert in Pasadena, California.

He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery after which he was sentenced to three years’ probation.

And again in September 2016, he was arrested for driving under the influence. He pleaded guilty which resulted in him receiving more probation time.
