Ukrainian Actor Artem Tkachuk Stabbed in Naples, Italy

Ukranian actor Artem Tkachuk who played in the Award-winning film The Piranhas was stabbed by a member of the Italian city’s “baby gangs”.

Artem was stabbed in Chiaia, Naples, while the actor was out with his friend.

Tkachuk reported to the police that the duo was approached by a "baby gang" member at about 3 am (local time) on Sunday morning.

One of the gang members questioned Artem, whether he lived in the neighborhood of Rione Traiano, during which he was stabbed two times in the stomach while his friend was beaten.

The wounds sustained by the actor were not serious.

Artem Tkachuk, currently 18 is originally from Ukraine.

He played the character of a young mobster in the movie The Piranhas, the story of "baby gangs", criminal groups led by youngsters, in Naples, Italy.

Tkachuk played the fictional character, Tyson.

The word Piranhas refers to a word used by the Camorra, the Neapolitan mafia, for the gangs.

The movie was based on the works of the Italian writer Roberto Saviano.

Police officials believe Artem Tkachuk may have been stabbed because of his role in the film.
