Two teen boys, one of who is already in the Harris County Jail, have been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of a man, authorities have confirmed.

Darrell Ellsworth, 18, and another unidentified boy of age 16 were charged with capital murder on Thursday, May 2.

Arrest warrants were issued for the two for killing Jeremy Washington, 30, on March 14 at an apartment complex in Houston.

According to authorities, a witness heard a gunshot and found the victim mortally injured in the grass outside the apartment building.

The fatal shooting unfolded after Darrell was freed on the bail of $10,000 in December. He arrested and was charged with robbery in May 2018.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on April 17, 2019, after he didn't appear in court for the robbery case.

He was taken behind bars on the following day. He was also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and possessing meth.

The unauthorized use of a vehicle charge was filed a week before he missed his court date. Darrell is set to appear in court Monday.
