Two Kentucky Boys Arrested & Charged After Smashing Rock Through a Car Windshield

A Kentucky man, namely William Wehner, 64, suffered serious facial injuries after a teen threw a rock at his vehicle, smashing through the windshield, authorities have confirmed.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the 64-year-old was driving in Burlington at approx. 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, when a 14-year-old boy threw a 5-pound rock, crashing through the windshield.

The victim, who got serious injuries, was immediately rushed to the hospital.

Wehner family told WKRC that William suffered broken bones in his head and face. He will reportedly need surgeries to reconstruct his face and the recovery could take months.

The 14-year-old boy and his 15 years old friend were arrested on Sunday, March 31, and charged with second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree assault. Police didn't provide the names of the teen suspects.

As per the report, the boys are students at the Boone County Alternative Center for Education School in Florence.

Police said that it was the second rock-throwing incident reported on that night. Details about the first occurrence were not provided.
