Trump Will Offer 1.8 million ‘Dreamers’ Citizenship: But at What Cost?

Updated On 26 Jan, 2018 Published On

American President Donald Trump reportedly plans to provide citizenship to more than 1.8 million "Dreamers," children who entered the U.S. illegally with their parents, according to White House officials with knowledge of the issue.

But the plan does come with some requirements. The proposal, which will be debated before the Senate votes in early February, would also require Congress to establish a $25 billion "trust fund" to construct a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and make arrangements for better border protections at the country’s border with Canada.
