Bain opened up about his bowel cancer diagnosis in 2014 and had been receiving chemotherapy and radiation as a source of treatment. A year later, he again turned to the media to share that his cancer was incurable.
Even if he had the disease, he continued to work on his YouTube channel and his podcast show. However, earlier in 2018, the gamer announced his retirement from game criticism while stating that the typical methods of chemotherapy had become useless to him.
During the announcement, he also shared his expectation for The Co-op Podcast to keep on going in his absence. He also said that his channels will be hosted by the person who knew him the best, his wife.
Through the same statement, Bain also thanked his followers for letting him enter their lives and place an impact on their hard-earned money.
TotalBiscuit's gaming career tolled the hearts of every gamer for more than a decade. He also gained prominence for his coverage of PC software and professional castings in games such as StarCraft 2 and PlanetSide 2.
