The legendary artist Tom Petty is no more among us. As confirmed by his family, Tom Petty and The Heartbreaker lead singer has died at the age of 66 after he experienced a heart attack.
As per the report, the singer-songwriter was rushed to the UCLA Santa Monica hospital on Monday, October 2 after being found unconscious in his home in Malibu.

According to an initial LAPD source, CBS News, and Variety, Tom Petty was taken off life support soon after. Yet later tweets from the LAPD claimed through a couple of tweets that the department has “no information about the passing of singer Tom Petty” and any information is “inadvertently provided” apologizing.

However, a later, the official statement on behalf of his family confirmed to media that Tom had died. Mr. Dimitriades said on behalf of the family.

Tom died peacefully at 8:40 pm local time (3:40 am GMT on Tuesday) surrounded by family, his bandmates, and friends.
