Todd Hoffman will no longer appear on Discovery's Gold Rush after Season 8. The face of the show since the first season, Todd held back tears after making the announcement of his exit on Friday, March 16.

This is definitely a disheartening news for the Gold Rush fans as the 48-year-old has long been a major part of the gold mining reality show since the inaugural season.

As per the report, Todd's father, Jack Hoffman, and his son, Hunter Hoffman may also be leaving the show at the end of Season 8.

The Discovery star fans, who regularly follow him on social media, have pretty much figured out what was going on before his Friday's exit announcement.

Nearly a couple of weeks ago, there was a lot of hoopla over a special live announcement on Gold Rush. While speaking to Matt Rogers, the Gold Rush host, Todd explained that the Gold Rush chapter was special, but after eight years, he will write a new chapter of his career and life.
