Geoffrey Owens, the actor who played Elvin Tibideaux in 'The Cosby Show', is currently working as a cashier at Trader Joe's, multiple sources have confirmed.

The former reality star, 57, was spotted behind a till at the store in Clifton, New Jersey, where he earns around $11 an hour.

He was wearing an ID badge bearing his name. In a photo obtained, Geoffrey weighs a bag of potatoes, wearing the Grocery store company's t-shirt with stain marks on the front.

A shopper named Karma Lawrence, 50, and his wife Yanelle, 40, were grocery shopping when they saw the former actor at around 7.30pm on last week and took some photos of him.

Karma said, "'I was just in Trader Joe's and I said to my wife, I said, 'Wait a minute, that's the guy from The Cosby Show.'"

He added,

She looked at him and said, 'It looks like him. He's a little heavier. I pulled up a site on the internet to look at a picture of him and said, 'That is him.'

He continued,

I have never seen him at Trader Joe's before. I was getting a bunch of groceries and he wasn't really looking at anybody, but he said, 'Have a nice day.'

Karma concluded,

I used to watch The Cosby Show all the time; it was my favorite show. It was definitely him. I would have thought after The Cosby Show he would maybe be doing something different. It was a shock to see him working there and looking the way he did. It made me feel really bad.

I was like, "Wow, all those years of doing the show and you ended up as a cashier." Other fans would be surprised for sure as well.

Geoffrey played Elvin the husband of Sondra Huxtable played by actress Sabrina Le Beauf, on the final five seasons of the NBC hit sitcom between 1985 and 1992.

Bill Cosby had played the show's main character, Cliff Huxtable; he is a convicted sex offender after being accused of abusing more than 60 women.

Geoffrey also had appeared in That's So Raven and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia; most recently, he starred in an episode of Lucifer in 2017.
