Texas Son Arrested and Jailed on Murder Charge in Death of Mother

A man, namely Matthew Dempsey, 18, and another man has been arrested after being accused of beating his mother, Mary Dempsey, with baseball bats and slitting her throat.

According to San Antonio police, Matthew was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 9, for the death of his mother.

The second suspect, identified as Daniel Saucedo, 18, was arrested on Wednesday, April 10. Both of them are jailed on suspicion of capital murder.

According to an arrest affidavit, the young men attacked the woman when she walked in on them burglarizing her home.

They struck Mary with baseball bats and then they used a kitchen knife and attack her, slitting her throat. Details about which man had the knife have not been disclosed.

None of the suspects has been assigned an attorney, according to the court records obtained.

Mary's murder comes just a few days after a mother-daughter duo, Tara Aven, 46, and daughter, Briar Aven, 24, were arrested for killing the matriarch of the family in Prescott, Arizona.

The Briar was charged with first-degree murder in the death her mother, Sandra Aven, 77, along wither her daughter Tara.
