Texas Man, Skyler Leviathan Sullivan, 25, Drowned Cat For Clawing Him During Bath

A Texas man, namely Skyler Leviathan Sullivan, 25, was arrested in April for allegedly drowning and killing his cat, authorities have confirmed.

According to a Sunday report, Skyler did so because it had clawed him during a bath 

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, he had called 311 and told the dispatcher that his cat had clawed his tattoo while he was giving a bath to it his home in Dallas.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Skyler said he got angry and "accidentally tried to drown" the cat. He says he has a PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder).

He told police officers that he had tried to revive the cat but failed.

According to the Morning News report, officers took the man to Parkland Memorial Hospital for mental-health treatment. A veterinarian determined that the drowning of the cat was not accidental.

Skyler was taken into custody on April 25 and was being held in the Dallas County jail. He was charged with one count of cruelty to nonlivestock animals.

He was released on Wednesday, May 1, after posting a bail of $5,000. As per the conditions of his bond, the man is not allowed to have any pets.
