Texas Boy, 12, Arrested For Shooting and Killing His Younger Brother

A Texas boy of age 12 was arrested in a murder charge on Saturday, May 4, after he fatally shot and killed his younger brother, authorities have confirmed.

According to a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Scott Spencer, the 10-year-old victim was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead due to the gunshot wounds.

Scott said officials responded to a call about a shooting at a Conroe home on Saturday afternoon and when they arrived at the scene, they the boy suffering from the gunshot injuries.

The 10-year-old was shot in the chest. Scott said, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the 10-year-old victim."

The department announced that the young suspect was taken into custody and charged with murder several hours after the shooting occurred.

The boy was jailed at the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility. Names of both suspect and victim have not been disclosed.

According to a KTRK-TV report, the family of the kids was broken by the death and arrest.

None of the family members wanted to comment on the incident. The family says they have been an unspeakable tragedy.

Investigators are trying to find out what caused the shooting.
