Teresa Halbach, when her name comes up, people usually think about the Netflix series ‘Making a Murderer.’ But that series does not do her story justice as it mainly focuses on her convicted killer Steven Avery.
Teresa was a young aspiring photographer as photography was her life. She lived in tight knitted family and was one of the five siblings. All of her friends and family say she was a spontaneous and loving person.
She was 25 years old at the time of her death. Her boyfriend Ryan Hillegas was never suspected as a killer. Want to know the details. First, see the trailer of Making a Murderer.

Before she was reported missing on 31st October 2005, the last place she was seen was at Avery Auto Salvage, where she was photographing a car for Auto Trader Magazine.
Avery was owned by Steven Avery, who was convicted of sexual assault and murder in 1985 and Halbach was well aware of that fact and she felt awkward around Steven, but it didn’t stop her from doing her job.
Her vehicle was found partially concealed in the salvage yard, and bloodstains recovered from its interior matched Avery’s DNA. Investigators later identified charred bone fragments found in a burn pit near Avery’s home as Halbach’s.
On November 11, 2005, Avery was charged with Halbach’s murder, kidnapping, sexual assault and mutilation of a corpse.

But after the release of the mini Netflix series ‘Making a Murderer’ on December 18, 2015, many people have argued that Steven Avery was framed and is not guilty, which gave a rise to alternative theories as to who could have killed Teresa.

Out of many names came a name Ryan Hillegas. Ryan was Halbach’s ex-boyfriend. The fans of the series noticed that Hillegas had acted weirdly during the trial and that he had been accused of cracking her voicemail passcode, and people were quick to suggest that maybe he is involved in Halbach’s murder.

Many have also said that Hillegas had been stalking Halbach for a while and has also left multiple voicemails on her phone that might have proven him guilty of her murder.
During the trail, a cell phone experts said that some messages were inexplicably deleted from her phone and it might have been the ones from Hillegas and they claim that he might have somehow cracked her voicemail passcode and deleted his messages.

It is sad to see that Teresa still hasn’t gotten justice for her cold brutal murder. And people are taking the side of a man who just might have killed her. It must feel like a nightmare to her family to have to know that her daughter’s murderer is still out there living and her daughter had to lose her life.
Teresa and her family are in our prayers and we hope that they find the strength to overcome this difficult time.
