Teenager suffers gunshot wound to head near Dayton gas station

A teenager was injured at a gun shotting near Dayton gas station in Ohio, which happened on Tuesday, June 19 around 10 PM ET. The shooting in which the native teenager from Dayton was wounded at head occurred after a fight on Huffman Avenue.

The teenager whose identity hasn't been revealed is expected of a soon recovery, according to Dayton local police.

The 19-year old was trying to make an escape out of the scene on his car when someone fired shots. One of the bullets went through the teenager car's windshield and hit him in the head.

Despite the hit, he drove himself to the Speedway on Huffman, near South Smithville Road, and was lucky for some employees there dialed 911.

According to authorities, the victim walked into the gas station with a gunshot wound to the top of his head. He then was taken to a nearby hospital.

A man has been taken into custody in connection to the shooting. He was held captive more than four hours after the Tuesday's incident. He was arrested on Cherrywood Avenue in Dayton around 2:30 AM ET on Wednesday, June 20. The man has been recognized as Marcus Antonio White, who is currently 21.

The suspect is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a felonious assault charge, where further investigation will be taken.
