Being born up and raised up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill was seen joking around during his school days. Further, he seemed to have no interest in his study. Since childhood, he felt he doesn’t fit in the society. He used to spend most of his time watching movies and reading novels.

After his classes, he decided to give a try at comedy. Thus in collaboration with Matt Offerman, Eric Filipkowski, and Mel Cowan formed their own sketch comedy group Animals from the Future. Together they appeared in various backyard shows in Van Nuys.
Seeing up the flawless group act, Matt's brother Nick Offerman told his wife, Megan Mullally, about the group. Mullally, who showed an interest in seeing them perform live, got impressed after she saw the true performance of the four comedians.
Later, she discussed the show Saturday Night Live (SNL) with Haider. Hader who auditioned for the show got an absolutely positive response from the producers. His appearances in the show were loved by all. Furthermore, he also got an opportunity of working as an agent and manager.

He also provided his voice for supporting characters in Pixar films, which includes Monsters University and Finding Dory. He is also a writer for an animated comedy series South Park.
