Emilio started his career with the help of his father Martin Sheen and made his first stage debut alongside his father in Mister Roberts at Burt Reynolds theater in Jupiter, Florida.
Emilio and Rob Lowe together started the Brat Pack, a group of young actors, during the 1980s. there he appeared for the movie The Outsiders, an adaption from the novel of the same name by author S. E. Hinton.
