Suspect of Nipsey Hussle Murder, Eric Holder, Arrested in California

Eric Holder, 29, the suspect of the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle, was arrested, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed.

Holder was taken into custody at approx. 1: 15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2.

In a press release, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said,

Today around 1:15 p.m., a member of the public called the police to report seeing a person they believed to be Eric Holder in the 9900 block of Artesia Blvd. in Bellflower, [California]. Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies responded and detained the man. South Bureau Homicide detectives responded to Lakewood Sheriff’s Station and confirmed the person is Eric Holder. Holder was transported to a Los Angeles Police Department facility and will be booked for murder.

The LAPD then took to Twitter to thank the public for their assistance, writing, "Thank you to both our community for the heightened awareness/vigilance, and our partners at @LASDHQ."

Holder's arrest comes just a day after LAPD HQ shared that they had identified the suspect who shot and killed the rapper, and wounded two more victims. He was at large and wanted for homicide.

Hussle was shot to death outside his store in Los Angeles. Following his passing, multiple celebrities, including Jada Pinkett SmithDrake and Rihanna, paid tribute to him on social media sites.

Eric Holder walked up to three men who were standing in front of a business - including the rapper - in the strip mall at approx. 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 31.

He killed the rapper while two men were rushed to hospitals for their injuries.
