Susan Carland was born on 1980 with her New Zealand mother and Australian father in Melbourne, Australia. Carland spent a major part of her life in her hometown along with her sibling and parents.


Graduated from Monash University

After completing her higher education from the school, she pursued her Ph.D. degree from the school of Political and Social Inquiry at the Monash University.

Married to Waleed Aly

Later, she along with Professor Gary Bouma co-authored  ‘’The Research Process(7th edition), that was published by the Oxford University Press. Besides these, she also writes in local and international newspaper, academic journals, websites, and anthologies.
