1962

Steven Avery was born

Steven Avery was born on July 9 , 1962 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States . His parents were Allan Avery and Dolores Avery . Their family had a salvage yard which was 40-acre . He has two brothers and one sister .

1981

First Crime committed

Steven was sent to jail as early as the age of 18 in 1981 , he was found guilty for burglarizing a bar with a friend and was sent to jail for 10 months in the Manitowoc County Jail, he was released on probation in order to a pay restitution.

1982

Steven was married

Steven met his wife in the age of 19 . Avery found his wife Lori Dassey very pretty and humble he told the media . Shortly , after they met they married in 1982 . They also have four children , which includes twins also .

1982

Sent jail for the second time

Steven Avery was sent to jail in the late 1982 for the second time . This time it was for animal cruelty . One man admitted that , he and Avery took Avery's cat and poured gas and oil and threw it util it died in a bonfire . He was jailed for this crime until August 1983 

1985

In the year 1985 , his crimes were tripple i.e he had comminted three crimes in the same year which assaulting his cousin, a Manitowoc County sheriff’s deputy; possessing a firearm as a felon; and for the rape of Penny Beernsten.He was put into jail for 24 years for commiting three crimes .

1988

Steven was divorced

In 1988 , after being married for six years the couple decided to get split . It was mainly because his wife Lori was depressed and she had sent a letter telling "I just can't handle these kids anymore. Between the crying, yelling, talking back and fighting I just can't anymore."

2005

Arrested for killing a photographer .

In 2005 , Avery had a meeting with photographer Teresa Halbach who went missing then after in August .Her body was found in November , 2005 near Steve's Home .In 2007 , he was found guilty and was sentenced to life in prison .
