Steve Perry, an American singer, and songwriter is best known as the lead singer of the rock band, Journey. Inducted as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey on April 7, 2017, 69-year-old Perry was ranked no. 76 on Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Singers of All Time and has recorded 1996 platinum album Trial By Fire.

Steve graduated from College of the Sequoias, in Visalia, California. When Steve was 12 years, he listened to Sam Cooke's song, Cupid. Cupid is the song that inspired him to pursue a musical career.

Steve Perry began his career as a lead vocalist in Journey's album, Infinity, in 1978. After that, he released another album, Evolution, in 1979. His other albums as a vocalist of the band, Journey includes Departure, Dream, After Dream, Captured, Escape, that reached (No. 1 on the Billboard chart), Frontiers, Raised on Radio, and Trial By Fire.

During his tenure at Journey, Steve also sang as a back vocalist on numerous songs for the singer, Sammy Hager including The Iceman, and Run For Your Life. Besides, he also worked with several musicians such as Sheena Easton, Clannad, and Jon Bon Joviwho once dated Diane Lane Dishes.

Steve solo album, Against the wall, was released in 1988. Similarly, his second solo album, For the Love of Strange Medicine, was released in the year 1994. This album was partly successful because of the strange medicine world tour.

On May 20, 2018, Steve made a surprising entry on the final week of American Idol season 16, accompanying judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie while the finalist Gabby Barrett performed Journey's Don't Stop Believing

In an interview with Q1043 New York, Steve revealed that his success was credited to his late girlfriend, Kellie Nash, who made him promise not to return to "isolation” in any case.
