Tiger Woods has been never one to shy away from the length. The 41-year-old professional golfer has always had an itch for the long ball, and you may know that he has spent the first two decades of his career scratching it.
Apparently, the 14-time major winner has the itch again. Recently, another professional golfer, Rickie Fowler was asked by Golf.com's Dylan Dethier how Tiger Woods was looking, and Rickie said Tiger was hitting it "way by" him.
Asked Rickie if the rumors are true that Tiger's been hitting it by him in practice at Medalist.— Dylan Dethier (@dylan_dethier) November 14, 2017
He said "Oh yeah. Way by."
So yeah, Tiger's back
There is no doubt that it's a joke but let's imagine he wasn't. Rickie ranked No. 41 on the PGA Tour last year, scoring 300.3 yards off the tee. In his last full year on the PGA Tour, Tiger ranked No. 49 at 293.2. So he apparently has picked up a lot of distance since then.
Recently, Tiger told Geno Auriemma on his podcast;
I can't believe how far I'm hitting the golf ball. I'm back to hitting it my full numbers and not really trying to do that. I didn't realize how much I had dropped off because of the pain in my back and from me going at it and hitting it normal just because I just lived it from day to day and I really couldn't tell the difference. But now I can tell the difference.
