Serena Williams Plays First Game Since Giving Birth, Reflects on Her Top Moments of 2017

She is back! Serena Williams returned to the sport on Saturday in order to play her first match since she welcomed daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian in September.

The 36-year-old tennis pro, who rocked the court in an all-black ensemble, lost 10-5 to Jelena Ostapenko in a first-to-10 tiebreak in Abu Dhabi after an even first two sets.

Serena lastly won a game in January against her sister Venus, in the Australian Open final; it was later announced that she was nine weeks pregnant when she won her title.

After her match on Saturday, Serena admitted that it felt a bit strange to return to the court as she shared that motherhood was still at the top of her mind.

The athlete had the full support of her husband, Alexis Ohanian, whom she married last month, is an internet entrepreneur. He even took to Instagram to cheer on his wife's return to tennis.
