Serena Williams has returned to winning ways, hunting Kristyna Pliskova in her first grand slam match since becoming a mom. Serena became a mother for the first time in 2017, giving birth to a daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr with husband Alexis Ohanian. Williams defeated Pliskova - 7-6 (7-4) 6-4.
Williams, 36, had been away from grand slams for 16 months, but having returned to grand slam on Tuesday, May 29, for the 2018 French Open she said she felt like "a warrior princess."
Serena laughed as she referred her heroic comeback to the fictional nation in sub-Saharan Africa, home to superhero Black Panther from Marvel Comics. Williams told the reporters at the Frech open,
I feel like a warrior in it, like a warrior princess, a queen from Wakanda maybe.
It was comfortable to wear. I'm always living in a fantasy world. I always wanted to be a superhero, and it's kind of my way of being a superhero. I feel like a superhero when I wear it.
Her black attire was similar to that of Black Panther.
