Washington Shooting! One person was killed and two people were injured after at least one gunman opened fire the Central District neighborhood of Seattle on Friday, May 9.
Five people were transported to Swedish Cherry Hill following the shooting: one of them was dead on arrival.
Two other victims with non-life-threatening injuries were transferred to Harborview Medical Center. The two injured victims were of ages 20 and 46.
Witnesses told media that they heard about 30 shots from multiple guns when the shooting occurred at the 2100 block of East Union Street at approx. 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
At least one suspect opened fire on a group of victims at the scene.
SPD has started a search operation for multiple suspects. Witnesses describe the car of suspects as a tan Chevy Malibu.
SPD said in a press conference that a gun violence gang unit emphasis has been active in the area.
