San Diego Based Aspiring Model Meets a Fatal Accident After BMW Crashes on Way to Coachella

A BMW, which was carrying three young San Diego natives was torn into two in a crash on a Riverside Country freeway on its way to Indo for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. on Thursday, April 12. 

An 18-year old model, Ginevra Gallone-Latte was thrown out of the car in the accident and died at the spot, authorities said on Friday, April 13. Passenger Manela Cerciello-Rahbari, 16, is reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries and the diver, Cesar Hernandez-Ozuna, 21, has a laceration on his face.  Authorities report the accident happened at 4:30 am.

According to CHP statement, the vehicle was on high speed when it left the freeway, lost the track and struck two trees down the embankment. CHP statement also reported they were carrying beverages but none was subjected,

The BMW was loaded with food, alcohol and camping gear as all three people were on their way to the Coachella Festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio.

Gallone-Latte was a La Jolla High School student which Cerciello-Rahbari too attended. The school issued their condolence in a statement,

saddened by the loss of one of its former students. 

the statement reads,

Our condolences go out to the student’s family and friends during this difficult time, and we wish the best for the other individuals involved as they recover. Counselors have been on campus to provide support to students and staff, and will be available indefinitely to assist anyone in need. The La Jolla High community is strong and we will support one another during this time,
