Canadian-American Bee was a struggling actress in the initial stage of her career, making money by waiting tables. However, things soon changed for her as at the age of 26, she played the title character while touring with stage production Sailor Moon.

Later on, she even co-founded The Atomic Fireballs, a sketch comedy troupe. Consisting of all women, the group performed each others ideas and showed a massive mutual support.
However, in 2003, Bee was finally able to make a big name for herself as she joined The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, as the only female correspondent on the show. She gained media attention through the show and also became a prominent name. She appeared in the show for 12 years until she called it quits in 2015.

She had already made her debut on TV in 2000 and had appeared in three TV shows before, but the roles did not help her to build up a profile.

Her show, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, was premiered on 8th Feb 2016 making her the first woman to host a late-night (satire) show. The show gained good reviews during the first season and bloomed out even more during the second season.

As of 2018, the actress cum host is working as an actor and executive producer in The Detour and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Likewise, she is also a voice actress and is currently working on the production of Elliot the Littlest Reindeer, where she voices Hazel.
