Soon after her birth, Bee's parents separated from each other and she was initially raised by her grandmother. During her childhood, she attended Catholic school, on Roncesvalles Avenue. Later, she enrolled at Humberside Collegiate Institute and York Memorial Collegiate Institute.
After graduating from high school, Bee studied humanities at McGill University. Because of her dissatisfaction with a range of issues at the school, she moved at the University of Ottawa, where she signed up for a theatre class. After her acting class, she discovered her love for acting. She also attended George Brown Theatre School in Toronto.
Bee made her television debut in a television series, Real Kids, Real Adventures. Later, she appeared in an American late-night talk and news satire television program The Daily Show, which was created by Madeleine Smithberg and Lizz Winstead.
After her successful start as an actress, Bee appeared in an American superhero movie Underdog, which was directed by Frederik Du Chau. The co-stars of this movie are Jim Belushi, Peter Dinklage, Amy Adams, and Jason Lee. The movie became a huge hit and grossed $65.3 million at the box office against the budget of $25 million.

The couple was blessed with their first child Piper Bee-Jones in January 2006. After a couple of years, she gave birth to her second child Fletcher Bee-Jones. After two years, she gave birth to a daughter Ripley. She lives a happily married life in Manhattan, New York, along with her husband and children. There is no any rumor of divorce between the couple.
