Former sportscaster of ESPN, Robin was born as Robin Rene Roberts in Tuskegee, Alabama, United States of American on the laps of Lucimarian Tolliver and Lawrence E. Roberts. Her late father Lawrence was a pilot with the Tuskegee Airmen. She is an American.

As a child, Robin was active in several sports. When she was in Pass Christian High School, she used to play sports like basketball and tennis. She was also active in several other sports. She graduated from there in 1979.

Graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University

After completing her high school graduation, she joined Southeastern Louisiana University. There she majored in communication. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication in 1983 with cum laude. She then began following her sisters footsteps.

Joined WDAM-TV

After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication in 1983, she joined WDAM-TV and began serving them as a sports anchor and reporter. Next year, she moved to Biloxi, Mississippi and then she joined WLOX-TV. She worked there for about two years.

From 1986, she began working as a sports anchor and reporter at WSMV-TV. Two years later, she joined WAGA-TV where she also worked as a sports anchor and reporter. During that time she also worked as the radio host of radio station V-103.

Robin Roberts was born Robin René Roberts on November 23, 1960, and is currently 58 years old. She was raised by her Father; Lawrence and Mother; Lucimarian Tolliver and grew up with her siblings; Sally-Ann Roberts, Dorothy, and Lawrence E. Roberts.

Roberts graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Communication. She is of American nationality and belongs to the black ethnicity.

Robin Roberts began her career as a reporter in 1983 for WDAM TV in Mississippi. After the success in WDAM, she appeared for WLOX TV in Atlanta from 1988-1990. While in Atlanta she worked for a radio station as well. After some years, Robin travels to Shanghai to Interviews Basketball star Yao Ming.

After the grand success in Journalism, Roberts debuted on television series from Wide World of Sports from 1961 to1998. Then, she appeared in several series some of them are; Good Morning America, Sports Center, ABC World News Tonight which is still Broadcast.

Again in 2012, Robin had to go through bone marrow cancer. When the news of her bone marrow cancer got flashed in the media, the donors increased by 1800%. She fully recovered from her cancer.
