    Ric made his debut in professional wrestling career in Rice lake. He then fought with George "Scrap Iron" Gadaski in his first match on 10 December 1972 where he played for 10 minutes and was able to draw the game.

    Ric has spent most of his career fighting in Japan. He first competed in Japan in 1973 for International Wrestling Enterprise. He there fought due to the working agreement between AWA promoter Verne Gagne and the IWE.
