The long awaited sequel of Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes 3 won't be out any time soon as the released date has been pushed further for the year 2021.

It's been ten years since the first prequel Sherlock Holmes, directed by Guy Ritchie, featuring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law was released in 2009.

The sequel to the movie, Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows (2011) was also a huge hit, which had the fans waiting and anticipating for a trilogy.

The movies are based on the original works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The wait is finally over as sources have mentioned that the main cast has been brought together for the filming of the new movie, but there's no mention of Guy Ritchie.

It must be due to Ritchie's involvement in upcoming movies like Aladin, which features Will Smith.

Producers mentioned that the movie would be released on 22nd December 2021, but owing to unforeseen circumstances the released date has been pushed forward.

Many questions are being raised as to why the delay for the third movie?

Although there are no specifics regarding the matter, many have speculated that it must be due to Robert's long term tenure as the Iron Man in the Marvel movies.

The latest sequel of the movie earned $545 million at the box office, surpassing the previous $524 million of the first installment.

Maybe the producers have pushed the date forward in order to make their fans crave for the movie and to oust their previous box office earnings.
