In the 1987 NBA draft, he was selected by the Indiana Pacers. He was booed by the Indiana Pacers fans for being selected in front of Steve Alford. However, later he was well acclaimed by his fans as he led Indiana Pacers to become a perennial playoff team.
Reggie Miller also established himself as the Pacers greatest player of all-time. He also had a successful career as a national player. In 1994, he appeared in the FIBA World Championship representing US national team.
They also won a gold medal in this championship. His last game for Indiana Pacers was with Detroit Pistons on 19th of May 2005 and they lost this match to 88–79.
