Randal Howard Paul was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the United States to Carol and Ron Paul, on January 7, 1963.
His father Ron Paul is also an American Politician and Physician. Rand Paul is the third of five children by his parents. His siblings are Ronald "Ronnie" Paul Jr., Lori Paul Pyeatt, Robert Paul, and Joy Paul-LeBlanc. He belongs to white Ethnicity.
Paul studied at Baylor University from fall 1981 but was dropped out of Baylor without completing his Bachelor's degree in either biology or English, But he was accepted by Duke University School of Medicine without undergraduate level (During the time of his admission, Duke did not require an undergraduate degree for admission to its graduate school) He completed his study in 1988 and residency in ophthalmology in 1993.
