Rajalakshami Parthasarathy is a social worker, journalist, educationist also founder and CEO of the P.S.B.B. Chennai, India. She is well known as Dr. YGP. Rajalakshami (age 91) was born on November 8th November, 1925 in Chennai, India. Her parents were Parthasarathy and Alamelu. She belongs to South Asian ethnicity and holds an Indian nationality. She had completed her study from St. John’s School and joined Holy Cross College and Post Graduation in journalism from Madras University in 1947.
After completing her Degree, she starts her career working with “The Hindu” and “Tamil-weekly Kumudam” and became the first woman journalist from India. Later, she got married to Y.G. Parthasarathy. She started Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan with 13 students in the terrace of her house in 1958.
Now, the institution is a highly praised education entity in all Indian education system. According to 2011 survey, P.S.B.B. has 7211 students and 335 teachers. On January 26, 2010, she was awarded the Padma Shri award which is India’s Fourth highest civil honor. She has an approximate net worth of U.S $ 3 million.
