After the court hearing on Tuesday against charges of sexual abuse, singer R. Kelly has been arrested and sent to the county jail after he failed to pay $161,000 to his ex-wife Drea Kelly for child support.

The week has been quite hard on R. Kelly. He was released from the court, a week ago after paying $1 million to the victims of sexual abuse.

But he still owes $200,000 to his ex-wife Drea Kelly, which was reduced to $161,000.

As per the US laws, the accused can be charged criminally for being unable to pay the child support as any amount above $20k is considered a felony, punishable by law.

After the hearings on Wednesday (6th March 2019), R. Kelly was handcuffed and sentenced to the county jail, escorted by the Cook County Sheriff's officials.
