Someone like Queen Elizabeth is not seen making a public appearance very often. However, recently, the Queen attended the funeral of a close friend Jeanie.
While several other members of the royal family, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry, chose to attend Anzac Day events, Queen Elizabeth dedicated her time to her late close friend.
The Queen opted for a very simple dress for the funeral, a black coat dress with white trim and a matching hat for the service, which was organized at St. Michael and All Angels Church in Highclere.
Well, this marks one of the rare occasions that the Queen herself has attended a funeral, as most of the times a representative attends such events on the family's behalf.
Talking of Jeanie, 83, she was close friends with the Queen, 93. Reportedly Jeanie's late husband Henry, the 7th Earl of Carnarvon — or Lord Porchester, was reportedly the one who managed the Queen's horse racing.
In fact, her late husband was often described as "a sensitive, quiet man who shared her passion for horses."
Well, on the occasion, Jeanie’s son and Queen's godson George Herbert greeted the queen outside the church.
Similarly, two of Jeanie's other children Harry and Carolyn also welcomed the queen.
Jeanie, who was the founder and president of Newbury Spring Festival, died on April 11.
