The Quantico star Priyanka Chopra and ABC have issued an apology for their recent episode, The Blood of Romeo that featured an Indian terrorist attack in the storyline.
The 5th episode of the 3rd season of Quantico found immediate backlash after it included an Indian terrorist plotting to terrorize the New York City.
Chopra who portrays the role of Alex Parris, a former FBI/CIA agent tweeted on Saturday to apologize for the episode. She tweeted saying that she was saddened to have hurt the sentiments of people through the recent episode.
She further added,
I sincerely apologise. I'm a proud Indian and that will never change.
I’m extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of Quantico. That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I'm a proud Indian and that will never change.

Following the backlash, ABC also issued a statement to respond to the critics. The statement extended their apology to their audience who were offended by the most recent episode.
The statement also showed an unfair aim at Chopra, who didn't create the show, nor write or direct it.
While backing Chopra, ABC stated,
She has no involvement in the casting of the show or the storylines depicted in the series.
The statement further added that,
'Quantico' is a work of fiction.
The show had featured antagonists from various different ethnicities and backgrounds. But, in this case, as the statement read,
We inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue.
The statement ended with,
It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.
The Blood of Romeo episode aired on June 1 with the storyline revolved around a plot by Hindus ahead of an important international summit meeting in New York City.
