Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland has given birth to her third child a baby girl, the Office of the Marshal of the Realm announced on Friday.

The princess and her husband Christopher O'Neill welcomed their latest addition on Friday, March 9 at 12:41 a.m. at Danderyd Hospital. The baby weighed in at 7.6 pounds (3465 grams approximately) and measured at 50 centimeters long.

Christopher was at the hospital for the arrival of his little girl. Marshal of the Realm, "both mother and child are in good health," according to Svante Lindqvist.

Christopher said in a statement,

We are thrilled about the new addition to our family. Leonore and Nicolas are looking very much forward to finally meeting their new little sister.

The Swedish Royal Court has posted a picture taken by the proud father of the newest family member.

The couple, who married on 8 June 2013 the Royal Palace chapel, have left the hospital for their home in Stockholm.

As previously reported, Princess Madeleine announced her pregnancy via Facebook on 27 August 2017.

She wrote,

Chris and I are thrilled to announce that I am expecting. We look forward to four becoming five!

Madeleine first met her husband in 2010 before they became engaged in October 2012. They also share a 4-year-old daughter, Princess Leonore, and a 2-year-old son Prince Nicolas.
