According to NBC News, the adult film actress' attorney, Michael Avenatti, claims in the complaint filed,  that Michael’s payment of $130,000 to not to tell anyone about her relationship with the president, was facilitated under illegal pretenses to prevent voters from hearing Stormy’ story ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

The document reads,

The Hush Agreement was entered with the illegal aim, design, and purpose of circumventing federal campaign finance law,

The complaint claims that Michael’s denial of illegal activity implies that Stormy is lying, which is a defamatory statement, according to the lawyer of Trump's alleged former girlfriend.

He writes,

Mr. Cohen made the statement knowing it was false or had serious doubts about the truth of the statements,

This latest grievance is an amendment to Stormy’s ongoing lawsuit against Trump and his lawyer, in which she claims the president never signed the nondisclosure agreement and requests that it be nullified.

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said that it is likely an attempt to get Cohen and Trump deposed under oath.

As previously reported, Stormy set up a fundraising page to get money to pay for legal expenses and potential damages against the president.

In an interview with In Touch magazine in 2011, the adult actress claimed that she had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006, shortly after he welcomed son Barron Trump with his wife Melania Trump.
