Before Rick jumped into gold mining, he played his luck in singing, but couldn't get the best out of it. It was during one of his musical tours, Rick met the Gold Rush star Parker. Rick showed interest in joining the team and eventually became a part of the team.

Parker rang him after 9 months for their meet and Rick ultimately joined them in Alaska. 

Rick Ness and Gold Rush

Rick joined Gold Rush in the 3rd season in 2013 and has been with the show ever since. Despite having any hand mining experience, Rick managed to cope with the needs. However, Rick already had a basic idea of operating heavy machinery as his family was in the same business.

Rick operates rock truck and other heavy machinery including Dozer and loader. 

Speaking of his belongings with the laborious job, gold mining, Rick once revealed that he enjoyed watching the show on television, but it was unthinkable of him doing the same some day.

He said,

I used to watch the show with interest, but it never crossed my mind that one day I shall be a part of the show.

Previously, Todd Hoffman appeared as one of the leads on the show and his net worth at present is around $2 million.
