2001

Poppy gained her formal education from the Blake School and she graduated from there with cum laude in 2001. She then joined Columbia University, there she majored in political science and she also graduated from there with magna cum laude in 2005.

Took an intern at CBS

While she was attending Columbia University, she took an intern at CBS and after her graduation from there; she joined them in a permanent basis and began working as an assistant producer. Few years later she became an anchor and reporter for NY1.

Joined Forbescom

At the end of 2007, she joined Forbes.com Video Network. There she worked in diverse field. There she covered the news related to fashion, entertainment and business topics. She also began hosting some shows after that.

Joined CNN

Involved in a controversy

In 2013, she reported the two Steubenville, Ohio, high school football players who were convicted for raping the 16 years old girl. But in the report instead of being rude to them, she shared some sympathy towards them which created a huge controversy and CNN apologized for this news.
