Pittsburgh based rapper Jimmy Wopo was shot dead in a drive-by on Monday, June 18 in his hometown. A second man was also wounded during the incident, authorities said. Jimmy was 21.
Police responded to the shooting in the city's Hill District, Pennsylvania around 4:22 PM ET, according to a Pittsburgh newspaper, Tribune Review.

The Elm Street singer and the second man whose identity hasn't been revealed were rushed to the nearby hospital, but unfortunately, the rapper couldn't make it. The second man wasn't seriously injured, reports claim.
Jimmy's manager, Taylor Malin confirmed the rapper's death. Malin shared his heartfelt condolences via Facebook, writing,
I lost my brother today and it’s the worst feeling in the world. He was destined for greatness and he wanted the best for his friends, family and community. We lost a great person today, but just know I will do everything in my power to make his memory live on forever. Love you bro.
Wopo, whose real name is Travon Smart, was well-known for his 2016 single - Elm Street. He released his debut mixtape in July 2016 from his eight-track album titled Woponese.
His other notable work is Back Against the Wall, which he created shortly after his release from imprisonment in 2017 for reportedly violating his parole. Wopo was also featured along with rapper Wiz Khalifa on Hardo's single Today's a Good Day.
The same day, raper XXXTentacion also shot dead, which happened in Miami.
