Piers Morgan was born as Piers Stefan O'Meara on the 30th of March 1965 in Newick, East Sussex, England, the United Kingdom to Vincent Eamonn O'Meara and Gabrielle Georgina Sybille. Morgan lost his father at the age of one. He is British and is of Irish, Scottish, English, and Portuguese descent.

As a child, he is said to have attended Chailey School and Priory School in Lewes. Piers Morgan was the high profile student at Harlow College and there he majored in journalism.
